Love Lock Volunteers Needed!!!
Dates: 16th January – 10th February
Anytime between 9.30am & 4.30pm at Quackers Cafe
Yes we did it - Thornbridge rescued the 40,000 locks from the Bakewell bridge - the council were going to chop them off and melt them down. NO!!!
We have designed a new structure for the locks to find their new home at Thornbridge - planning permission all sorted.
The new structure will sit alongside the cafe where the bike racks used to be. (The bike racks have a new home - don’t worry)
The Launch date is the 14th February - Valentines Day - being covered nationally by all BBC, ITV and others - newspapers, Social Media etc etc
We have to re-thread locks onto 288 separate wires!
Representing the original bays and individual wires on the bridge - so that people can find their locks.
A short induction session will be required for your first volunteering session where you will be kitted out with a High Vis Vest and Gloves.
The work is not strenuous or dangerous - dogs welcome - and i reckon sensible 8/9 yrs+ with their adult will love getting involved.
Let us know what dates and times you can do. You can tell a member of the team or email me
emma@thornbridge.co.uk
